About
I'm a technologist, product leader, and lifelong learner with a deep curiosity about how ideas shape the way we think, build, and see the world. My background in technology, design, and product management has taught me one fundamental truth: the quality of your thinking determines the quality of your output.
Why IdeaStacking?
Over the years, I've built a practice of "stacking" insights—layering concepts from history, philosophy, technology, and culture to develop a more comprehensive understanding of the world. Each book I read, each idea I encounter, becomes another building block in my personal philosophy. But here's what I've noticed: we're consuming more content than ever, yet thinking less deeply about it. We scroll, we skim, we move on. We collect ideas without truly examining them, without pressure-testing them against our own experiences and values. IdeaStacking is my answer to that problem. This is a space dedicated to:
Deep, critical thinking over surface-level takes Examining ideas from multiple angles before accepting or rejecting them Building your own philosophy rather than adopting someone else's wholesale Discovering books and thinkers that challenge conventional wisdom
My Approach I believe the best insights come from lateral thinking—finding connections between seemingly unrelated concepts. You'll see this reflected in my writing, where I might connect Nintendo's product philosophy to personal productivity, or AI prompt engineering to critical thinking frameworks. Every book, author, and idea I recommend here aligns with a core belief: thinking is a skill that can be developed, and the right books are the best training ground. What You'll Find Here This blog is a curated space for readers who want to:
Move beyond echo chambers and engage with challenging perspectives Develop frameworks for critical thinking Build a personal philosophy grounded in deep reading and reflection Discover authors and books that provoke real intellectual growth
IdeaStacking is an extension of my broader work at stanwilsonjr.com, but with a laser focus on ideas, philosophy, and the books that help us think better. If you're tired of shallow thinking and ready to build a richer intellectual foundation, you're in the right place. Let's stack some ideas.
